It’s 1988 and Pope John Paul II will visit the small town of Melo, Uruguay where an estimated 50,000 people will make the pilgrimage to see him. The humble residents are excited and believe they will get rich by selling food and beverages to the large crowds. Beto, a small time, bike-peddling smuggler comes up with the idea of making a fortune by building a bathroom stall in front of his house and charging an entry fee. Beto will face unexpected difficulties to achieve his objective and along the way, perhaps gain the love and respect of his daughter.

Es el año 1988 y el Papa Juan Pablo II visita el poblado de Melo, en Uruguay, dónde se calcula que 50.000 personas asistirán al evento. Los humildes ciudadanos, alterados, creen que vendiendo comida y bebida a la multitud se harán ricos. Beto, un contrabandista en bicicleta, decide en cambio construir un excusado enfrente de su casa para hacer su fortuna cobrando por entrada. Para lograr su objetivo deberá atravesar una serie de dificultades y a lo largo de la historia quizás se gane el respeto y el amor de su hija.
