Mission

To develop, promote and increase awareness of Latino cultures among Latinos and other communities through film and video events, education, and other art forms.Most recognized for the production of the Chicago Latino Film Festival, ILCC has screened more than 900 films and videos, including many award-winners that otherwise would have never been shown in Chicago; sponsored workshops and discussions with more than 500 visiting filmmakers; and hosted more than 100 foreign journalists.ILCC has also produced, directly or in cooperation with other organizations, more than 25 cultural events including comedy, dance, music, poetry, theater and visual arts exhibitions. The Chicago Public School, Chicago Public Library, universities and corporations, both locally and nationally, utilize the Chicago Latino Film Festival video library as educational tools within their organizations.Today ILCC has a budget of over $1 million, a full-time professional staff, a working and governing Board of Directors, and a year-round calendar of events. ILCC has an active roster of over 100 volunteers and 300 members who provide invaluable assistance and supplement the work of the staff and Board. The organization receives the financial support of corporations, foundations, government agencies, Columbia College Chicago and ILCC members.
